First settled in the 1830s along the banks of the scenic Fox River, Aurora is the 2nd largest city in Illinois with a beautifully diverse population of just under 200,000. Located 40 miles west of Chicago along the I-88 East/West Tollway Corridor, Aurora is accessible through 5 interstate exchanges and 2 Metra BNSF stations. The City covers a lot of territories, primarily in Kane County, but sections also fall in DuPage, Kendall, and Will Counties.

Aurora is served primarily by Aurora West School District 129, Aurora East School District 131 and Indian Prairie School District 204. Aurora is also home to Aurora University, a private liberal arts school with award winning faculty, sponsoring 24 Division III sports teams that comprise 20% of the student population.

What Makes Aurora a Great Community?

Paramount Theatre and Arts Center – this historic building originally opened in 1931 presenting “talkies” and Vaudeville acts. The theatre underwent a major restoration project and re-opened In 1995 to its past and current glory. The Paramount has been named one of the top 10 theatres in Chicago and is now home to the popular Broadway Series, along with an impressive calendar of live acts that cover Comedy, Dance, Music and other Performance Genre.

Riveredge Park – opened in 2015, is a new welcome entertainment venue along the banks of the Fox River. 10 Acres of Riverfront property host live outdoor concerts.

Hollywood Casino. This 58,000 sq.ft. 24-hour casino originally floated up and down the Fox River. Now the “boats” are permanently moored just off the New York Street bridge where you can enjoy the thrill of gambling, along with several restaurants and Center Stage live entertainment venue.

Fox Valley Mall – located on city’s far east side, bordering Naperville, this 1.5M sq.ft.Enclosed shopping center is home to well over a hundred big name and specialty stores, and an impressive food court. Since the 1970’s when the mall was originally built, the surrounding area has been developed to include a wide varied of dining, shopping and entertainment options.

Chicago Premium Outlets – Located on the far north side of town, with convenient access at Farnsworth Avenue, this outdoor shopping destination is home to over 160 name brand stores and features outdoor fireplaces, art exhibits and a reflecting pond.

Downtown Naperville – A mecca for shoppers and diners with over 100 stores to love and over 40 restaurants to satisfy.
